I decided to purchase a new set of tires for my car. These will replace a set of dry-rotting tires that came on the wheels I just bought, and I currently have another set of winter tires (although I discovered a screw had found its way into one recently) so I wanted something with summer sporting intentions but with our seasons that can't seem to make up their minds I also needed something that could go from 20 degrees one day to 70 the next without swapping tires. These offered the best balance between dry weather grip, ride comfort, and treadlife warranty while also being rated for at least a dusting of snow (which we got today after having 65 degrees on Friday and intense rain all weekend). Last year I purchased a set of Pilot Super Sports which were probably the best tire I've ever driven on, but I sold my Legacy GT and eventually sold those since the Impreza I was driving was never going to even extract a 10th of the PSS's potential, so I decided to get the PSS's 3-season little brother. Hopefully I'll make it to an AutoX this summer and put them to the test as I'm sure the 1 roundabout I take on my commute will hardly raise an eyebrow for these

I'm looking at getting some Super Sports actually right now :) Similar reasons too, my front tires are Bridgestone Potenza's, the tires that came on 350Z's... and the amount of wear they have leads me to believe, they are the stock tires, from 06'. Also, the rears, are some super cheap brand of tire. Also, one of the Potenza's got a nail in it yesterday. lol

Check the date code on the tires. That will give you a better idea of when the tires are from- I just picked up a set of wheels and apparently the tires are from when the guy bought the car in 2005 since the tires have a date code of the 11th week of 2004.
The Super Sports were excellent tires, and I mean the best tire you can buy if you want maximum grip, a predictable limit, and relative comfort... just be prepared to fork over a bit of cash for them. I just daily drove mine, albeit a little harder than normal, but after 9k miles they still had 8/32" of tread left. You probably have read all the reviews, but if you drive a little rougher then you may only get 20k out of them

I do drive a bit rough, but luckily, I dont drive many places either. They'll be used for DD'ing and Auto X at some point, also helps that I have another car that Ill drive on certain days, lol
